September 3, 2010 by: Brad LodwigEven though you may want to have junk food over a plate of greens veggies, you need to know how important it is that your body gets these nutrients. Without them your body can’t function to the best of its ability. It can’t help your immune system to fight off infections and you are more prone to illnesses.
This is also related to diet and nutrition. If you exercise on a regular basis or are trying to lose weight, you need to add supplements to your diet so that your new muscle doesn’t lack the nutrition it needs.
You diet needs to contain the following in order to give your body what it needs:
Carbs- provide you with energy, so you must get a healthy dose of carbs in order to get that energy. These can be found in rice, bread, pasta and potatoes. There are unhealthy carbs as well that makes you gain weight and are found in sodas, sweets, and sugary drinks. Excess carbs that are stored in the body turn into fat.
Vitamins and Minerals- you find these in fruits and vegetables, they help to regulate the body’s processes and strengthens the immune system.
Proteins- helps build muscle, enhances memory and immunity.
Iron and Calcium- iron is the building blocks for the body ad found in meat and green veggies. Calcium is good for strong bones and you can find them in milk and other dairy products.
Fiber- important to maintain good health, improves digestion and prevents gallstones. Found in oats, bran and vegetables.
If you do an intense workout or exercise on normal basis, you have to make sure you are giving your body the nutrition it needs. If you don’t, you could have fatigue, weakness and malnutrition.
