How To Paint A Kitchen To Suit The Mood
September 10, 2010 by: Don GroseIt seems that nearly anything is possible when it comes to inventiveness and creativity while inside the kitchen. There’s really no end in sight as to what can be done in terms of design.
Just as important as the design is the layout of the room. When cooking, this can be the difference between easy meals that are a pleasure to prepare, and cluttered experiences that require you to shuffle things around in such a way that everything ends up in a state of mess.
With that in mind, it’s always critical that you have a design that inspires you to make food. You want to be excited about the prospect of cooking in your kitchen, not put off by the lack of space it offers. Amongst the many considerations aside from layout are also color schemes, which can play a major role in setting the tone for things.
Each and every different color has a different symbolism in different environments. You will have to understand their symbolisms inside out to be able control the atmosphere you wish to create.
Let’s say you want to go with something bold, a color that elicits spice and heat. Naturally, something such as orange or red might come to mind, and you’re right in thinking so. These colors will do just that.
Anybody who has been in a kitchen knows that creating the effect that it is hotter than it already actually is will not be comfortable to the chef. The flip side of the coin however is that the color red is capable of increasing one’s heart beat rate and thus metabolism. An increased metabolism always goes hand in hand with hunger. This may prove to be quite inspirational to the chef.
When one is trying to create a cool, calm and soothing effect, blue tones have a good way of doing this. This can however have the effect of repressing the chef’s hunger which will in turn kill his inspiration.
To generate the perfect amount of heat and or hunger in the kitchen, some of the most popular tones are the earth tones. With the right use of green tones, inspiration to use various vegetables is created.
