Sleep More And Stay Away From Upset Stomach

Studies prove that stress can be a direct cause of an upset stomach. A balanced-diet, vitamins and other food supplements are not enough to prevent indigestion if you don’t know how to deal with the root of indigestion which is stress. Stress is well-known to have caused most of the illnesses that many people nowadays suffer from, and one of that is Dyspepsia or simply put it, indigestion.

Under stress, the body releases special hormones like adrenaline which is secreted by the adrenal glands. As adrenaline rushes, the heart rate increases. These often cause the digestive system to react and suddenly symptoms like dizziness, abdominal pain and heartburn occur. Inflammation of other parts of the digestive system can also be a result of stress.

You can manage your stress by mastering some basic techniques. The first technique is performing some relaxation exercises. Relaxation exercises are overly simple and can be done without any aid from exercise machines. You can perform some muscle relaxation exercise to release tension from your shoulders and back. Develop breathing techniques too by practicing long and deep breaths instead of short and quick ones.

Most upsets in the stomach is a result of not chewing your food well when eating. For this not to happen, avoid eating in stressful environments, one example is inside the car. Before you eat, find a quiet place where you can sit down. You can apply your breathing techniques here just right before you start eating, putting yourself in a relaxed mode rather than a stressful one. Eat slowly and feel the texture of your food chewing it properly to break down the nutrients your body needs.

Your digestive system will function more effectively if you eat food that is natural and best for digestion. Instead of filling your stomach with junk (zero-nutrients) food all the time, why don’t you turn to healthier ones like fruits, vegetables, and fiber-rich foods like oats. These are quality food and are considered the best in nourishing and cleansing the digestive system.

Finally, know that stress is your enemy and that the number one stress-buster is relaxation. So take a break from the worries of this life and rest more often. Stress is unavoidable but that doesn’t mean you can’t beat it with proper understanding, a well-balanced diet, rest and more rest!
