Take A Ride On A Spinning Bike, And Stay Healthy

The Spinning bike was introduced to the world in the 1980s. Initially they were created to provide training workouts during the winter months for cyclists. The normal exercise bike is housed in a heavy constructed frame. This frame has been designed to provide a solid base yet with flexibility so that it can be moved on the gym floor easily. Also, bikes can be aligned side by side or placed at random depending on the class.

There is a large wheel at the front end with a flywheel which is adjustable. This allows for pressure or tension as required. Any adjustments can be made by turning a knob on the side of the machine. This adjusts the pressure between the wheel and pedals. On the pedals there are straps to hold the feet safely in place. The cyclist can reposition his arms due to the fact that the spin bike bar is shaped in the former of a letter W.

Spin cycling offers a tremendous amount of benefits which are a boon to the health-conscious. One of the major ones is the fact that one can ride day or night without being concerned about bad weather. Added to this is a further benefit of a low impact exercise, easing stresses on the body.

Unlike many other sports such as running jogging etc., one’s joints are not overly stressed. The cardio effect is excellent and to the mind of most exercise conscious individuals, puts the spinning bike at the top of effective exercise equipment. Indeed, considering that the muscle groups are worked concurrently, you can get a full body workout. It is said that a spinning bike will enable you to burn off the fat at the rate of several hundred calories per hour!

A spin bike will not offer you lots of comfortable features so forget the padded saddle and pedal straps. They are nowhere in sight. You can pick up the bare bones of a spin bikes exercise very quickly, and with a bit of effort and talent could even reach pro status if you so desire! One of the questions often asked is what do you do to keep your mind focused and overcome the boredom? The answer that many have is to bring along your own MP3 player. Some take the opportunity to learn a foreign language such as Spanish or Italian or Russian. Maybe listen to an audio book or your favourite music. Why shouldn’t your mind receive an equal workout to your body?

If you had a good time in your childhood riding your bike, there is absolutely no reason why you couldn’t get the same buzz and buoyant health from the sport of spin cycling. It need not be overly expensive but if you wanted to treat yourself to items such as a gel pad for your saddle, or a sports top or a special water bottle they are all available at clubs or online.

There are numerous exercise bike clubs and associations around today. So you have no reasons to not get started straight away. A quick surf on the Internet will be helpful. Your constant motivation will come from the boost in health and fun you will receive from this great sport.
