If you think that phobia of driving is only experienced by some specific kind of people, then you are wrong. Anyone can become a victim of this problem. In the end, it all comes down to their driving experiences.

This kid of phobia is blind to gender, age, race or religion. It can attack anyone. Usually, the affected people are the ones who know how to drive. In some cases, the affected do not even have any experience of being behind the wheels. This is quite rare but still it happens.

If that is the case, the fear is usually the result of an incident that involved the person in questions. The accident is very traumatic in nature. Therefore, the affect is enormous.

Such experiences are usually the cause of the problem. These accidents can really leave a mark on the people who were involved.

The accident keeps on playing through their minds even some time after the accident. They might be afraid to drive even once things have gone back to normal.

All of this result basically results in the experience of intense panic and anxiety while driving. Panic attacks are more likely if the affected happens to pass the area where the event took place. The fear that engulfs the affected during these panic attacks can be bad enough that makes the affected give up driving altogether.

Victims of hit-and-run cases, who were just pedestrians, can also develop this form phobia as well even when they were not even the vehicle. It can also keep them away from driving.

They are scared of the fact they might cause someone the same problems that they once underwent. This fear alone is enough to keep them away from the steering wheel. They do not want to the cause of someone’s suffering. This turns into exaggerated experience of anxiety while driving, which eventually leads to them quitting the idea of being behind the wheels completely.
