When couples plan their weddings, they make a whole of list of things that need to be prepared prior to the big day. Of course, number one on the list would be the wedding gown and the suit, followed by the wedding rings, the entourages’ attire, the church, the wedding reception, food, cake, wedding favors, guest list, entertainment, and so on. But, what is a wedding without the trimmings? Flowers are always a must-have in weddings. In fact, there are couples who spend a fortune on flowers – from the church to the wedding reception.
What is it with flowers that any occasion cannot be complete without them? More so, what is a wedding without flowers?
Maybe it’s possible not to have lots of flowers in a wedding, but a bride’s look will never be complete without a wedding bouquet.
If the bride is after the traditional look when it comes to wedding bouquet, then a nosegay flower arrangement is the best choice. Typically a round, small size bouquet, nosegay style these days is much bigger in size than the old designs. It is bunched up with other flowers, usually in pastel or white colors, and with very minimal space for leaves.
Another traditional flower arrangement is cascades. Lovely from whichever angle you look at it, cascades give a touch of class to bouquets as flowers are centrally arranged with some flowers or leaves draping down the cluster of flowers. This can be prepared as a single-themed flower arrangement or combined with other foliage. The inverted teardrop look is what makes the flower arrangement stunning.
For a much modern look, brides may opt to use anthurium instead of the traditional calla lilies, orchids, or roses.
A simple bouquet design that became popular in the past is the fan bouquet. From the name itself, it is a flower arrangement that is joined to a plastic fan. Laces are sewn or glued along the sides of the fan for a more old-fashioned look. Ribbons, baby’s breath flowerettes, and crystal beads are sometimes used as embellishments for this type of bouquet.
The wrist design is for brides who do not want the hand-held type of flower arrangement. It looks more like a corsage than a bouquet, but it is becoming more of a fad among modern brides.
For brides who want a dramatic yet interesting bouquet, the scepter arrangement is the popular choice. More like the one held by beauty titlists, the scepter bouquet is a long stemmed flower arrangement that may be embellished with ribbons, sashes, and beads for a more impressive effect.
This are just some wedding bouquet arrangements especially designed for that exciting day. There really is no right or wrong bouquet choice – after all, flowers are flowers. They make things and occasions beautiful.
